Across the Bay Area, public health officials are encouraging businesses to cancel or postpone non-essential public gatherings due to the risk of community spread of Covid-19 Coronavirus. For this reason, The Crucible is postponing our upcoming Spring Open House, originally planned for Saturday, March 21.
This past Thursday, 327 students from eight local scools descended on our studio for the first of four Field Trip Days we’re hosting this Spring. Every year we open our 56,000 square-foot studio to Bay Area students so they can see what industrial arts education looks like up close.
Soirée is The Crucible’s once-a-year glittering fundraising event that raises more than $150,000 to fund scholarships and support for our industrial arts education programs. At The Crucible's 2020 Fire & Light Soirée, for one night only, this industrial arts school transforms into an elegant ballroom with luminous art installations, breathtaking performances that awe and inspire, and of course, fire!
