Adult Classes
The Crucible offers adult classes, with a variety of formats, levels, and price points. Evening and weekend classes are designed for working and busy adults, and range from brief introductions to a studio area to weeklong or longer immersions that can transform a novice into a skilled and confident craftsperson.
Please review The Crucible’s Health and Safety Guidelines before registering for a class.
3-HOUR TASTERS
These short, introductory classes are an easy way to begin exploring in fire, metal, or glass. Structured for ages 12 years and older, just about anyone can get a taste of creating with fire and light. 3-Hour Tasters are offered in Blacksmithing, Enameling, Glass Ladling, Glass Flameworking, Glass Fusing, Jewelry, Leather, MIG Welding, or Sand Casting.
FIVE WEEKS
In just a little over a month, you’ll gain knowledge in welding, enameling, flameworking, blacksmithing, or other arts. Five weeks is an ideal amount of time to get introduced to a new skill. Many of these art classes have related intermediate classes that follow them to provide you with the option to further your progress.
8 TO 10 WEEKS
If you’re serious about learning to make jewelry, form glass, cast bronze, dance with fire, forge a blade, or other skills, The Crucible’s longer courses allow the time and practice you’ll need to master any art you desire. These in-depth courses are especially recommended for students who have projects in mind.
WEEKLONG WORKSHOPS
The Crucible offers special weeklong workshops for adults who want to take a break from the mundane and spend some time being creative and learning new skills. Over the course of five days, you’ll learn theory, principles, and techniques that will give you the necessary skills to create your own independent project. Set some time aside for yourself and come to The Crucible for a MAKEation you’ll never forget! Weeklongs are offered in Blacksmithing, Bladesmithing, Glass Blowing, Glass Flameworking, Jewelry, MIG Welding, and Woodworking.
