This weekend, you helped us set an all-time-high Crucible Open House attendance record, with over 1,600 attendees! Local artists and Crucible faculty sold their work, our expert faculty gave demonstrations in all 19 of our departments, and kids were busy playing Bingo to win a bike. The Spring Open House was our most interactive event in Crucible history, with attendees making their own copper stamped pendants, metal clay charms, indigo bandanas, learning to weld underwater, and more!

Louisa Lemos and her winning piece “Cactus One,” made from blown glass and cast bronze.

Our neighbors from Happy Dumplings kept us well fed and the bar staff kept us refreshed with delicious drinks. Our curated Crucible art gallery showcased work made by Crucible staff, faculty, volunteers, and students, with Louisa Lemos winning our Community Choice Award and a $100 gift certificate to FLAX Art & Design. We raised over $200 in support for the Raphael Allen Fund to support scholarships for adults of color, furthering our mission to make the industrial arts accessible. Thank you to all of our amazing vendors, attendees, faculty, staff, volunteers for making our Spring Open House so special. We hope to see you in the studio soon!

Below are some of our favorite photos from the event. Don’t forget to tag us in photos you share online and use the hashtag #CrucibleOpenHouse.
