This week, eleven high school students came together at The Crucible to begin their four-week Furgo Youth leadership Program. The program, now in its thirteenth year, is an opportunity for Bay Area teens to expand their industrial arts skills under the guidance of a mentor while also supporting Youth Summer Camp instructors in the classroom.

Meet Glass Blowing Department Co-Heads, Kate Drury and Sam Schumacher

Earlier this year, we relaunched our Glass Blowing Department with a greater community focus in mind. The idea was to expand our offerings to include free or subsidized programming to school teachers, community educators, youth groups, and beyond. To spearhead this new programming, we enlisted the help of two incredible Glass artists and educators, Kate Drury and Sam Schumacher, as our new Glass Blowing Department Co-Heads.

Open For Business Program

Open For Business Program The Open For Business Program offers Bay Area BIPOC makers and entrepreneurs the opportunity to scale their business, develop industrial art skills, and build relationships within the local maker and manufacturing communities.
