Description
Learn how to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to build a piece of fine furniture. Class assignments introduce the core concepts and techniques required for most woodworking projects, including milling boards to straighten them, choosing and creating appropriate joints to connect them, and the careful handwork to finish everything well. Students leave with a strong foundation for more advanced wood classes and a small end table. All tools for learning are provided.
This class is a prerequisite for the CREATE Program, a way for students to use our studio space, tools, and equipment to work on individual projects.

A Bay Area native, I'm a retired business exec turned woodworker. I enjoy building small cabinets, tables, desks, and boxes. I recently completed the intensive training program at The Krenov School of fine cabinet and furniture making in Ft Bragg, CA. I'm excited to be back in the Crucible shop working with staff and students building cool things.
