Entry Level Class (No prerequisite required) in Woodworking
Description
Dovetails have long been seen as a mark of craftsmanship as they?re famously tricky to do well. This class will go over the complete construction of a drawer or box made from solid lumber, including half-blind dovetails at the front, full dovetails in the back, and a bottom panel floating in a dado. Students will use machines to mill lumber to their drawer?s dimensions, then learn to cut the various types of dovetails by hand. A drawer made in this class can be used in the cabinet made in Woodworking II, if desired.
This class is appropriate for beginners and those with some woodworking experience who wish to further their hand tool skills.

A Bay Area native, I'm a retired business exec turned woodworker. I enjoy building small cabinets, tables, desks, and boxes. I recently completed the intensive training program at The Krenov School of fine cabinet and furniture making in Ft Bragg, CA. I'm excited to be back in the Crucible shop working with staff and students building cool things.
