Sharing Our Gratitude for Kelmen Wu This Thanksgiving

Cathy Niland | 11.23.2022

It’s the season of gratitude and we are so lucky to have a team full of dedicated individuals who keep our organization running. This holiday, we wanted to take special care to thank one team member in particular.

Accounting Manager, Kelmen Wu, is the glue that holds The Crucible together. She keeps our team paid and ensures our invoices go out on time, among many other things. And while payroll and invoices aren’t usually considered glamorous, we would be hard-pressed to do anything without Kelmen’s contributions.

Our Chief Financial Officer, Renee Ventimiglia, shared how much she values Kelmen’s work ethic and presence in our office. “I have so much respect for Kelmen. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness around her work is unparalleled. When I think of the finance team as a jazz band, I definitely think of Kelmen as the drummer.”

Kelmen has been a crucial part of our finance team for four and a half years. She brings a positive spirit to her role, always greeting folks with a friendly smile. “Sometimes finance people, especially those in payroll, can be scary. But Kelmen isn’t! She’s always approachable,” shared Renee. “They broke the mold when they made Kelmen. We’re very fortunate to have her.”

In addition to reliably completing payroll for 100 people per pay period, Kelmen also manages our invoicing, supports financial auditing, and helps our staff access their benefits, among many other things. Outside of work, Kelmen is a devoted daughter who cares for her senior father. She’s also a food fanatic and her favorite local lunch spot is Ming’s Tasty Restaurant in Oakland’s Chinatown.

So with that, please join us in a virtual round of applause for Kelmen Wu, without whom our organization would fall apart. Make sure you say hello the next time you pass through the office.
