This past Thursday, 327 students from eight local scools descended on our studio for the first of four Field Trip Days we’re hosting this Spring. Every year we open our 56,000 square-foot studio to Bay Area students so they can see what industrial arts education looks like up close.
Over 300 students visited The Crucible on Thursday for an interactive, educational, and inspiring field trip! Crucible faculty, feeling inspired by Halloween, delved into spooky demonstrations! Field trips at The Crucible are a free, community benefit that we provide for all students in the Oakland Unified School District and any Title 1 Public School.
Do you remember the first time you saw pewter liquify before your eyes, pressed your fingerprint in clay, or watched smoke rise as you wood burned your own unique design? 227 Oakland Unified School District youth attended The Crucible for free as a part of our Field Trip Program.
