#BlackLivesMatter And Ways To Support Our Black Community Members

6.1.2020

Centering this moment on leadership from people of color and those most directly impacted by what is happening is essential to us. We honor our local and national leaders of color and encourage you to join our community in supporting the call for justice. If you can, one way to support is to donate to the following organizations, listed below.

We are proud to see Oaklanders showed up in the thousands this weekend to demonstrate for police accountability and justice for people of color who have been killed. We say their names: George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Steven Taylor, Nia Wilson, and too many more who have lost their life to police brutality, racism, and systematic injustice.

As a long-standing Oakland community organization, serving thousands of youth and adults each year, we stand in solidarity with everyone raising voices for justice and against racism. The Crucible remains committed towards ensuring that our space and our staff create a safe, welcoming, equitable space for all people to create and be empowered through access to the fine and industrial arts.
