Square Supports Local Small Businesses with Scholarships and Webinars

Following the challenges of the last two years, The Crucible is committed to hosting an equitable and inclusive 2021 GIFTY Craft Show and Open House. A minimum 20% of vendor spaces have been reserved for BIPOC vendors, with priority going to those who live or work in West Oakland and the surrounding area.
Thanks to Square, the financial services and mobile payment company, The Crucible is also offering up to $5,000 in GIFTY vendor scholarships for the first time. These scholarship awards will be prioritized for BIPOC and low-income participants. Each scholarship will cover some or all of a vendor’s booth fees.
Square is thrilled to support The Crucible’s annual GIFTY craft show and open house with $5,000 in scholarships for BIPOC, low-income, and other qualifying participants. Partnerships like these are critical in ensuring small business opportunities remain equitable and accessible to all. Square has been an enthusiastic supporter of The Crucible since 2019. We are proud to support local organizations like The Crucible and the Bay Area maker community.
