This past weekend was nothing short of exceptional! Visitors turned out in huge numbers to support local vendors during GIFTY, our first in-person event in nearly two years. From hands-on activities to demos to shopping, it was three days of non-stop joy.
GIFTY would be nothing without our creative Bay Area vendors who brought a beautiful and eclectic variety of goods to the event. Both vendors and shoppers reported having a great time! We also want to thank our faculty for sharing their skills in Neon, Blacksmithing, Glass Flameworking, and Woodturning—your demos were mesmerizing.
Behind the scenes, our office and studio staffers did so much to get ready for the weekend and your work is endlessly appreciated. To the staff and faculty who led hands-on demos, you really brought the holiday cheer to participants young and old—thank you! We also have to give a big shoutout to the many volunteers who helped GIFTY run smoothly by checking guests at the doors, pouring drinks behind the bar, taking photos of the event, and so much more.
But the biggest shoutout goes to our Volunteer and Events Coordinator, Cassie Punnett who did an incredible job as showrunner. She managed support, logistics, vendors, food and drinks, activities, and everything in between. It’s been months of hard work and it paid off in spades. Make sure you give Cassie a round of applause the next time you see her!
