Fire up the creativity this summer!

Our immersive weeklong camps run June 8–July 31, 2026 for youth ages 8–18 ready to hammer, shape, melt, and weld. Students build real projects, learn new skills, and unleash their creativity in a one-of-a-kind maker environment while exploring classes like blacksmithing, glassworking, welding, woodworking, ceramics, and more. Spots fill quickly—register today!

How to Get Here

The Crucible is conveniently located near BART and AC Transit. We encourage public transportation and have onsite bike parking as well.

BART

From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

AC Transit & 511.org

Parking

Parking is available at 1300 7th Street. Enter the parking lot off of 7th Street heading West. Street parking is also available on 7th and Union streets. Do not block The Crucible parking lot entrances. Do not park in lots owned by local businesses. Your car may be towed.
