Hands-on Raku Firing

Join us for a hands-on ceramic experience like no other! Glaze your own ceramic pot and discover the dramatic beauty of Raku, an ancient Japanese firing technique. Watch as your glowing-hot creation is pulled from the kiln and placed into a chamber of natural combustibles—creating stunning crackles, bold textures, and vibrant, one-of-a-kind finishes. Please note: Raku pots are decorative and not food-safe.

Special thanks to CASS — our longtime partner and West Oakland neighbor — for donating and delivering 2,000 pounds of metal for our upcoming Iron Pours! Their continued financial support also strengthens our Fuego Youth Leadership Program, helping students build skills, confidence, and career pathways. We’re deeply grateful for their commitment to our community.
