UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in attending this Thursday’s KQED Live Heavy Metal: Industrial Artisan Market at The Crucible. Our partners at KQED have decided to reschedule the event for this fall to allow additional time to build participation and create the vibrant marketplace experience we all envisioned. We appreciate their commitment to making the event the best it can be. At The Crucible, it’s business as usual. Our studios remain active with a full schedule of classes, exhibitions, public events, and community programs throughout the summer. We’re looking forward to an exciting fall season and will share new details about the artisan market as soon as they’re available. Thank you for your support, and stay tuned!

Step into The Crucible’s West Oakland warehouse for the Heavy Metal: Industrial Artisan Fair. This curated event features skilled artisans selling interesting forged finds and unique industrial creations and handiworks. Join a workshop to build something lasting alongside a master maker. It is an exploration of raw material and refined craft, hosted in a space built for both.

The Crucible is conveniently located near BART and AC Transit. We encourage public transportation. We will also have onsite bike parking.

BART

From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

Parking

Parking is available at 1300 7th Street. Enter the parking lot off of 7th Street heading West. Street parking is also available on 7th and Union streets.

Do not block The Crucible parking lot entrances. Do not park in lots owned by local businesses. Your car may be towed.
