Celebrate Día de los Muertos by creating a one-of-a-kind fused glass skull—a colorful, joyful tribute to life, memories, and those we hold dear.

Choose between a 4″ × 6″ decorative hanging skull or a skull that will be kiln-formed into a unique bowl. Start with a precut glass skull and bring it to life with an assortment of colorful glass dots, stringers, flowers, hearts, and other decorative pieces. Create something whimsical, elegant, playful, or inspired by traditional sugar skulls. You can even make your own glass flowers during class for an extra-personal touch.

This beginner-friendly project is a fun and relaxing way to spend an hour or two—whether you’re creating with family, enjoying a date night, or gathering with friends. Most participants finish in 1–2 hours. Your completed artwork will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup after class.

The Crucible is conveniently located near BART and AC Transit. We encourage public transportation. We will also have onsite bike parking.

BART

From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

Parking

Parking is available at 1300 7th Street. Enter the parking lot off of 7th Street heading West. Street parking is also available on 7th and Union streets.

Do not block The Crucible parking lot entrances. Do not park in lots owned by local businesses. Your car may be towed.
