Mid-Autumn Festival Community Bike Ride

Mid-Autumn Festival Community Bike Ride

October 6, 2025, 6-8 PM

The West Oakland Bike Resource Hub @ The Crucible

This ride is all about joy, connection, and making space for Women, Trans, and Femme riders to shine. We’ll start at The Crucible, ride out to several passionfruit spots in Alameda to harvest, then head to the beach for altar foods, lanterns, storytelling, line dancing, and moonlit reflection. All riders welcome!

“This ride is especially meaningful to me personally. I was a brand-new biker when I joined the WTF workshop at the end of last year, and it gave me the confidence to get and own my first bike. Having queer folks leading, teaching, and holding space at the bike shop made me feel safe and excited to start riding. Since then, I’ve done a couple of 25-mile rides with friends and even started using my bike as my main weekend transportation. None of this growth would have been possible without the WTF workshop.

Biking at night is still something I find intimidating, and I’d love to share that learning curve with the community that first opened the door for me. With this event, I hope to create a similar entry point — a ride that welcomes beginners while also celebrating culture and community.

To make the ride safe and accessible, we’d love support with basic biking necessities like lights, safety vests, repair kits, portable pumps, and ideally some harvest-friendly bike gear (bike bags, baskets, or racks). These items will not only increase safety but also make the ride more fun and practical — since it’s harvest season, it would be wonderful to give folks a way to carry their bounty home.” —Amy
