The Crucible Is Partnering With Curative To Pilot A COVID Testing Site

The Crucible is pleased to announce a new partnership with Curative, a COVID-19 testing company that is transforming healthcare delivery. Curative provides quick, easy, and painless no-cost access to COVID-19 oral-fluid swab testing with results are delivered within 24 – 48 hours of testing.
Curative’s oral-fluid test is far less invasive and has a higher accuracy rate (90% sensitivity, 100% specificity) than nasal swab tests. To ensure your test results are accurate, Curative recommends you do not eat, drink, chew gum, smoke, or brush their teeth a half-hour before taking the test.
Oral-fluid swab testing is an alternative method to nasopharyngeal or brain swabs in testing for COVID-19. The self collected oral-fluid swab has the individual cough first, releasing the virus from the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Once the virus is caught in the saliva, the patient then swabs the inside of their cheeks and the roofs of their mouths. When complete, the patient seals their test in a secure container and returns it to one of the medical professionals on site to be delivered to Curative’s lab. The Curative test is administered without coming into close contact with others, eliminating the need for personal protective equipment changes.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act ensures that COVID-19 testing is available at no cost to you, including the uninsured. Curative will not charge a copay if you or your child takes a COVID-19 test and The Crucible, nor Curative, will report undocumented citizens. Testing will be available to the public at The Crucible beginning Monday, December 14, 2020 and will continue weekly on Mondays. Please check Curative’s website for accurate date information, especially during the holiday season as The Crucible facility is closed.
