Turn colorful strips of glass into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowl. Experiment with color and pattern as you arrange the glass into your own unique design. Choose a single color, a soft gradient, or a vibrant mix—the possibilities are endless! We’ll kiln-fire your design and shape it over a stainless-steel mold, with your finished bowl ready for pickup about a week later. Easy, satisfying, and perfect for friends or family—come for the colors, stay for the conversation, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you made yourself!

How to Get Here

The Crucible is conveniently located near BART and AC Transit. We encourage public transportation. We will also have onsite bike parking.

BART

From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

AC Transit & 511.org

Parking

Parking is available at 1300 7th Street. Enter the parking lot off of 7th Street heading West. Street parking is also available on 7th and Union streets.

Do not block The Crucible parking lot entrances. Do not park in lots owned by local businesses. Your car may be towed.
