Join us for a fun, family-friendly day at The Crucible!

This free public event is a great opportunity to explore everything we have to offer while enjoying hands-on activities and community connection.

Learn about our exciting summer camps, youth classes, and family workshops, and hear directly from past students about their experiences. Take a guided tour of our 56,000-square-foot facility and browse our gallery showcasing incredible work created by our artists and students.

Get creative with a selection of Crucible-inspired projects you can make and take home, and enjoy family-friendly snacks along the way.

All ages are welcome—come discover, create, and be inspired!

How to Get Here

The Crucible is conveniently located near BART and AC Transit. We encourage public transportation and have onsite bike parking as well.

BART

From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

AC Transit & 511.org

Parking

Parking is available at 1300 7th Street. Enter the parking lot off of 7th Street heading West. Street parking is also available on 7th and Union streets. Do not block The Crucible parking lot entrances. Do not park in lots owned by local businesses. Your car may be towed.
