Join us on Saturday, March 31 from 12-5pm for a taste of what you can create in the fine and industrial arts! With so many amazing things happening at the Spring Open House, we made this list so you can get your Open House game plan together. #CrucibleOpenHouse

Peruse Our Art Gallery

Walk through our art gallery and peruse artwork from Crucible staff, students, faculty, and volunteers. Vote on your favorite three pieces – the winning artist will get free tuition on a Crucible class!

Stone Carving Demonstrations

Richard Friedman started Stone Carving at The Crucible eleven years ago with no prior experience, and will be doing a live demonstration at our Spring Open House! We will have stones and tools available for you to carve at the Open House, so come and try it for yourself! We can’t wait to see Richard’s newest project- a 100 pound menorah made of alabaster that will feature metal candle holders designed by Byrd Pappas, Studio Manager at The Crucible. We hope to see you at the Open House!

Steam Bending Wood Demonstrations

Meet Jenny Wong-Stanley, Steam Bending Wood instructor, and see steam bending wood in action at the Open House. Steam Bending Wood is a brand new class! It is the manipulation of rigid wood with the assistance of heat and water allowing it to bend and become malleable.

Glass Blowing Demonstrations

During our upcoming Spring Open House, Kier Lugo and Sam Schumacher will be glass blowing incredible centerpieces to adorn each of the tables for our upcoming Fire & Light Soirée and Art Auction. Make sure to stop by the Hot Shop to get a sneak peak! Pictured is one of the beautiful centerpieces from last year’s event blown by Kier himself.
