The Crucible will be offering 2020 youth camps in a limited capacity, with new health and safety policies in place, in accordance with the most up-to-date orders defined by the Alameda County Public Health Department, under the guidance of the state.
We are an industrial arts school dedicated to safety—and we are working hard to implement best practices put forth by The Department of Public Health, Alameda County, the City of Oakland, the State of California, the Center for Disease Control, the federal government, and the World Health Organization.
As The Crucible welcomes youth students in for summer camps, we strive to create a welcoming environment to encourage creativity in a safe and responsible way. From drop off to pick up, please carefully review the 2020 Youth Camps Health and Safety Guidelines for how we are implementing best practices at The Crucible’s Youth Camps.
Class sizes have been reduced to allow for 6 feet of space between students and faculty, we are requiring that everyone wears masks in the building at all times, preparing pre-packaged bags of materials for each student, instituting new entry and exit procedures, and so much more. Please review our new policies and plan before registering—there are details you need to know.
Please note that as health and safety guidelines continue to evolve, we will adapt our safety procedures accordingly to ensure we are following best practices. Please refer to the last updated date at the top of the document for the most up-to-date safety policies.
The Crucible’s new youth camps will go on sale for members Monday, June 1, with public registration starting on Saturday, June 6. We are currently working on moving everyone who has already signed up for youth classes to one of our newly scheduled classes. As always, Crucible members get 10% off class tuition year-round and have access to member-exclusive events. Due to our studio’s temporary closure, we’ve extended member benefits so that all memberships purchased between now and the end of May will have three extra months of benefits, expiring August 31, 2021.
You can sign up to be notified when youth camps go on sale, with our Notify Me tool.
