Towering
pillars of flame, cracking bolts of electricity,
bodies dancing through fire – experience
a four-day celebration of creation through
fire & light. Come during the day to learn
new skills at special Crucible workshops and
classes. Return at night as the Fire Arts
Arena lights up with fire performance, music,
and the works of innovative fire sculptors.

Enjoy a sneak preview of the hottest concepts
from the 2006 Burning Man
honorarium artists, and hear members of Burning
Man’s Art Department speak about this
year’s theme and the granting process. |

The Crucible’s studio transforms into
a fantastical landscape of fire and
light. Enjoy aerialists from Flyaway Productions
soaring overhead, flame-tempered delicacies,
and a live bronze pour with performances by
the Von Stilt Family, LOOP!STATION, Copper
Lantern, The Nekyia, and Ashley Knight. All
this while bidding on works by prominent Bay
Area artists in our live auction. Then join
our procession to the Fire Arts Arena for
the Festival’s opening ceremony.

Twisted
Fiery Circus: Fire Arts Arena
Show
$25 members/ $30 non-members
Take a tumble down
the rabbit hole into an otherworldly carnival
of fire. The night comes alive with lightning
from Tesla coils and eruptions of fire. The
circus was never like this, with performances
from Mark Bamuthi, Prescott Circus, Vatra,
Loco Bloco, Ultra Gypsy, Copper Lantern, El
Circo, Von Stilt Family, XENO, DJ Vordo, Yard
Dogs Road Show, and an eclectic collection
of fiery circus performers.

Voltage Chaos: Fire Arts Arena
Show
$25 members/ $30 non-members
The Festival reaches its cacophonous crescendo,
lighting up Oakland’s skies with a symphony
of fire. Witness packs of fire spinners, flaming
antlers, fire breathers, and performances
from Elz Cuya, F-Space, Pyronauts, The Nekyia,
DJ Vordo, The Mutaytor, and a finale from
the one and only Extra Action Marching Band.
