Call for Recycled Art (Crucible Students, Staff & Faculty)
We're looking for art made with recycled materials to show at this event. We'll also have a longer running show at the Triptych Gallery in Berkeley. Please email with description and photos, if you have them. In-progress entries are welcome as long as they are completed before August 31.

Repurpose

Check out industrial grade materials and machines that are ready for you to give them a second life. Industrial fixtures, fasteners, fittings, materials and all sorts of tools and machines are just waiting to be repurposed or transformed by you. Be inspired by a piece of technology that has lost it's use or test your creative skills. New this year: rebuilt bicycles, studio furniture, glass shop equipment and much more.

Recycle

Enjoy the unique and beautiful student and faculty art created out of recycled materials and sample The Crucible's full program of industrial and fine arts including welding, blacksmithing, neon, glassworks, woodworking, and a thrilling live bronze pour. And don't forget to enter our raffle to win fabulous prizes.

Relax

Member Mix-a-thon Preview

On Friday evening we'll be hosting our special Mix-a-thon Member Preview, where attendees get first pick at the one-of-a-kind items that make up this spectacular sale. Sip a glass of wine and enjoy a snack as you peruse the abounding treasures. Do your shopping, enter our raffle, bring in an item to our Fix-a-thon and and see an exciting fire performance.

This event is FREE to members of The Crucible and $10 for non-members. Not yet member? Join today and start enjoying the many benefits of membership.

Repair

Bring in your broken items and let us fix them for you! The Fix-a-thon welcomes everything from cracked ornamental metalwork to neon that's lost its glow. Bring us your knives that need sharpening, jewelry that's lost its luster, lamps that don't light up, bikes with bent handlebars, and more. Our professional and friendly staff will do their best to restore your items to full working order for a fraction of regular repair costs.

Our West Oakland Bike Fix-a-thon Program will be running Sunday, September 10 from 12-5 pm. This community program is geared toward West Oakland youth under 18 and emphasizes learning about the bicycle repair process. Volunteer bike mechanics will fix broken chains, flat tires, and anything else bike-related.
