of Flyaway
Productions, an aerial dance troupe
that performs apparatus-based dances that expose
the range and power of female physicality. Founded
in 1996 by choreographer Jo Kreiter, the company
performs in both traditional and site-specific venues,
including on fire escapes, on industrial cranes,
on an active construction site and recently on a
live billboard. Flyaway has performed at RPI in
upstate New York, the Boston Dance Umbrella's International
Aerial Festival, the Aerial Dance Festival in Colorado,
and locally at Theater Artaud, and Yerba Buena Center
for the Arts.
