Mark Streshinsky
Mark Streshinsky is new to
ballet having spent many years directing operas.
He recently had great critical success directing
the world premier of David Carlson’s Anna
Karenina which opened the Ziff Opera House in Miami
and was subsequently performed at Opera Theatre
of St. Louis. Mark made his Michigan Opera Theater
debut in 2006 directing Rossini’s La Cenerentola,
and returned to that company this past fall to
direct Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Mark
has directed four operas for The Berkeley Opera
creating critically acclaimed productions of Eugene
Onegin, Handel’s Acis and Galatea and Legend
of the Ring (a one-evening version of Wagner’s
Ring cycle). Most recently for the company, he
directed the world premier of Chrysalis, by composer
Clark Suprynowicz and playwright John O’Keefe.
He was a member of the staging staff of San Francisco
Opera for five years and has served on the faculties
of Opera North and Des Moines Metro Opera’s
young artist programs, staging opera scenes with
young singers. |
