Ian Baker

Ian Baker has been playing with fire for most of his life, and in a constructive manner since 2000 when he began developing his skill as a performer. He’s one of the few practitioners of the fire rope dart, and isn’t bad with poi either. In 2004, he helped to found the fire art group Interpretive Arson, where his specialties include fuel system design and wearable propane devices. As a Crucible faculty member, Ian teaches fire performance and flame effects design/construction. His art focuses primarily on the connection between life and machine, with occasional forays into ridiculousness. www.interpretativearson.com.
